Have questions about insuring your business?
What is the general process when working with a broker for insuring your business?
Insurance doesn’t have to be dramatic, but it is important for your business. Find out why commercial insurance is important, when to consider getting commercial insurance, and why you should use a broker.
Why is Commercial Insurance Important?
At its core, insurance is peace of mind. It provides you with the ability to pick up immediately from where you left off, if something unfortunate does happen. It’s protection from the many different risks that your business can face. Things like loss of property, litigation issues, loss of income, and much, much more. I’m going to wager that getting business insurance, especially when starting out, isn’t high on the priority list. For a lot of people, it’s an afterthought. My hope is to make that not the case.
When Should You Get Commercial Insurance?
When is the right time to get business insurance? Depending on your business and industry, you may have different legal or regulatory requirements, so I’d recommend looking into it as soon as possible. It’s always a good idea to start the process before you actually need it rather than leaving it for the last minute.
Why Should You Use an Insurance Broker?
So you’re ready to get insurance, but how do you know where to go? Should you go with a direct writer or an insurance broker? A direct writer means that you work with a person that works with an insurance company, so they only have access to that company’s products and rates. Insurance brokers are independent. They have access to a wide array of options and products from multiple insurance companies and are truly invested in getting you the best value for your dollar. With direct writers, you may not always get to speak to the same person since the agents usually work out of a call center. Depending on the size of the brokerage, you will often speak with the same person or group of people for your needs.
At Costen Insurance we pride ourselves on our personalized customer service and we work for you. We are family-run and are happy to give advice on any insurance questions that you have. If you’re looking for an insurance provider that cares, and a personalized experience for your insurance needs – look for a broker.
